hugo, congrats on your COD! tag, you're it! very well deserved as you are one of the few folks on UF who actually provide help in the form of excellent insightful critiques to us beginners. so much so that i'm not sure when you get the time to shoot your own outstanding photos. kudos!

btw, this photo reminds me; i should go through your portfolio. i've been meaning to do it for a while as there seem to be many facets to your style.

Hugo,

One of my all-time favorite subjects. I take loads of photos of these things. I like the different angle you present this in. The angle is different than the million or so shots of ferns that are seen daily. I also like the extremely limited DOF. However, what I do wish is that there were some point more in focus (preferably in the head). I am anxious to see the rest of the series.
