P.S. Thanks for all your lovely comments. Just one thing to come back on ~ the gull was real! I took it from another image, but I didn't alter the shape in any way! I'm not sure what kind of seagull it was, or whether it was a mature adult or a youngster, but it was definitely a gull! Still, I have appreciated the fact that you have critiqued my pictures rather than simply write: "Nice colours"!!

Beautiful picture of Haystack Rock (I think that's what it's called.. I've lived in Oregon majority of my life and can't for the life of me remember though!)
I haven't been to the coast in years though.. Brings back wonderful memories :)

what a great way to isolate your subject in a very subtel and inviting way. I will have to try this. Did you use a filter or just paint brushes?? Looks like the west coast??

Lori, this is absolutely beatiful. I just let a super long winded comment earlier today to Craig Garland about his Oregon pictures because I lived there for a couple years long, long ago. Especially check out his "Monster Wave", which he just posted today. Suffice it to say, I Love Oregon!! Send me pictures of Three Sisters or Eugene or Dunes National Park or Crater Lake or Cougar Reservoir and so on and on... This is a Beautiful Image...brings back memories
