I agree much more cose its the truth , about your considerations councernig painters, my learning was made studying the Masters of paint as well as the Masters of Music or Literature , though i dont see Bacon in my work, . Rembrant's light and shadow yess a tyny similitude...poor me.

I can NOT believe what you just did today John Lamb:
1. This is the first time that I have ever so sincerely commented on one of your images which I liked so much!
2. You then turned around in response to my comment here on this page and 'stuck' the original version of this very fine 'Non 6 x 6 CM' Medium Format pic which I for sure knew that Canon has ever manufactured nor that the G3 is on my own image page of my "Lahaina Buddah" without even critiqueing it instead nor any of my images EVER!
How selfish and 'self-centered' of a person you must be and I really hope that my two comments plus my rating on this page are deleted AND your comment, YOUR original PIC of this one here totally composed erroneously which demanded such severe cropping, and your rating on mine are ALL deleted!
You don't imho just select any one of another person's image page and stick your work there instead of your own page for an illustration when your image has NOTHING to do with mine ... Yes/NO?
There is a proper way to do things and you did not!

Hi John, Congrats on Top Photo of the day, well deserved! Interested that you use a Grad filter. I used to do this shooting film - you have no choice! But in Digital i just do two exposures on for the sky, one for the foreground and then combine the two in PS. The graduation i can draw as hard or as soft as i want and it's very flexible. Have you thought about this? Just wanted to give you my two cents. All good things Neil
