About There wasn't much vegetation at this elevation. What there was, hugged the ground closely. So did we, during the daily storms. McGee Pass, John Muir Wilderness, Sierra Nevada Range, CA/NV border.

Looks like everything has been said so I'll just say I love the red in the background. I agree with Jim about the composition but about polarizers and taking pictures that high I know nothing! :)

Funny, all the things Jim mentioned are why I like this - it feels almost like a holga shot and thus it appeals to me...mood is created imo...

Yes, I did use a polarizer. I usually like the contrast that it provides, and I'm a "blue" junkie. Yep Jim, these altitudes not only affect the camera equipment, it affects your cardio, your appetite, and your frame of mind (you never EVER, want to go back to work). Thanks for the excellent suggestions! ..Brad

Your image has a bit of a red cast to it. Were you using a polarizer at this altitude? It kind of looks like it. Above 10K polarizers can do odd things to an image. If you were at the wide angle of your lens you can start to get a bit of vignetting as well. It almost looks like that is starting to happen. Your focal point seems fairly centered. Having it off to the right with more of the mountainscape to the left would be a nice adjustment. All of this aside... great scene. It makes me want to get out and hike.
