Ok..see..this is what I mean. I think I'm doing okay, seen it all and then someone snaps a picture of a spider from Mars or something. :)

I agree with Bart. Leaf edge and seperation from background makes the composition. Would love if the little guy was a bit brighter red, but if he's dark red whatcha gonna do? Could wish for a little less shadow under his/her right rear section so the leg isn't lost.

A firghtening looking beast isn't he? The way you've included the leaf edge adds greatly to this composition. Color is good.
