About Without a doubt, the eruption of Mount Augustine, an island volcano SW of Homer, Alaska, was the most exciting geologic event that I have ever witnessed. Shot on assignment for the NGS book, "Nature on the Rampage" from a Cessna 185 approx. 3 miles from the volcano.

I am dumbfounded that you have only 7 comments on this magnificent shot! This is spectacular. I could spend all day in your portfolio - sorry to bother you with my extended stay but where do I sleep? :)

Yes,

I wished that I was there. Not to take the picture, but to enjoy the moment of this titanic event.
