About This fishing village is near the southernmost tip of Wakayama, A married couple, friends of mine, were missionaries there and I spent a happy Christmas and New Year there in the late '60s.

This is a really interesting monochrome image with excellent tonal range. The curve of the bay gives excellent composition taking the eye around the image. The small wooden houses with their boats have a timeless charm and I imagine this village has not changed for a very long time. Apart from the telegraph poles that is. Amazing thing is how close to sea level the houses in the centre are.
