About I call this the "Tiger" tree because of the tiger tape wrapped around it to warn you of the obstruction. In a more litigious society they'd saw the branch off in case someone hurt themselves on it. In Japan, they just wrap Tiger tape around it--and duck.

Roger, another beautiful panorama. I saw one of these widelux cameras on ebay this week, but just couldn't raise the cash during the run up to Christmas. I'm really getting envious of your work!

I think the runic lettering in the fence actually spells 'Mind your head' ;-)

Regards

keith

Beautiful shot. So well suited to the panorama format. You're right that in the US it may very well have been sawn off, especially now that we have new "environment-friendly" loggin, sorry, forest-thinning, laws in place!
I must admit that the bike is a minor nuisance but sometimes such things can't be helped.

You are right - we would cut it off - or if we wanted to save the tree, we would probably move the whole trail...this is a good shot except that I find it disturbing that it looks as if the bike were holding the branch up...

I think that it's better to wrap it up instead of sawing these marvelous trees.
Excellent photo,Roger,congrats, Antonella
