About My kids submit to being photographed so very rarely that I was cross to find I'd cut off the top of Eiji's head because of misreading the parallax of my viewfinder. Then I thought "Why not crop closely on ALL sides so it might look as if it was deliberate...?" And here is the result. What do you think?

Hi Roger, This is a great "street Candid portrait" type shot. I think the close crop looks quite effective. The background would be out of place in a formal sitting but I doth think it matters so much here because of the "street" feel.

I must be lucky all 3 of my kids like having their photo taken. Problem with using digital is that my youngest wants to see herself on the "tv" before I have had a chance to take the shot. I have lots of out of focus shots of her walking towards me!

Roger, if it's any consolation, I don't think I have a successful photograph of my kids at all. Like you say, the camera appears and they run ;-)

I like the 'recovery' you have managed with this. Salvaging the mistakes can give some very interesting results, and you have one here.

Regards
Keith

Very effective candid. No worries about the background - it's environmental. I like the tight crop. Makes it more dynamic. What d'you mean by "my kids"?
