Just cruising your amazing portfolio when I saw this thumb and the title and just knew it had to be for Elliott Smith. I'm just recently discovering his music, but from what little I know it seems to me that this wonderful photo is evocative of his essence. With it you have created a touching tribute from one talented artist to another.

Hi again...we are now addicted to that station! Brooke says nothing like that around this great metropolis. She bows towards Seattle each morning anyway as required of a loyal Starbucks employee. :)
And I do too as I get free stuff.;)
Anyway very cool music, and much to my taste. Thankee kind sir! We are enjoying discovering!
I wish on the 'infamy'! lol...I see you before me somehow.:)

One more thing on that radio station........watch it for live stuff. From their studios they broadcast and interview groups that come through town.........which in Seatle means everybody. Did you notice that Tom Waits only did Seattle, in the US, on his tour this year? Last week, among others, they did Drive By Truckers and Swedish band The Concretes......which made me go see them in a club. I don?t think you?ll find much of this kind of stuff in radio except from kexp.org

Most advanced streaming, CD quality radio in the world. Eclectic.....stuff that does not play on any other radio. Paul Allen [Microsoft] put his head into this station. It?s out of Seattle [of course!] so they do tend to play some Seattle based groups........but we?re the center of the music world you know [:)] so that?s cool. Listening to it keeps me younger than I am. Also, I think she?d value ?The Late Great Daniel Johnston? tribute album which just came out last month........ amazingly beautiful innocent and raw stuff from a wacky [bipolar] and strange Texas writer, covered by some heavy hitters.
A show!!!!! Now I need your autograph! Ones of people before they become famous are the most valuable you know. :)

Hiya John...the Elliott fan has heard one Sparklehorse song, not that one...she says they are cool so she better go get it so I can listen! I am back sorta elsewhere.
I have a show! Was getting prepared for that the past month. It's in a small gallery in a production company here, but it's a start! :)

Peta, Brooke has a look to her that reminds me of an era past, within my generation. The long straight hair, the round type tinted glasses. Vintage John Lennon. It is a image of passion. I did not know much of Elliot Smith, but the one or two songs I have heard remind me once again of Lennon. I have had inspirations in the past, Cat Stevens, Shawn Phillips, to the extreme of Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. Some times when one insipires you and they pass out of our mortal lives, they are even more engraved into our souls. I love the photo and my heart goes out to Brooke.

Very poignant and my deepest codolences. Very good photo, wish her mouth was not covered.
About C5050Z, Its not the lens which is F 1.8, very fast, its the focusing system, autofocus lamp illuminator must be on, if you are using ISO 64 or 100, requires more light, specially for supermacros. The new version camera 5060 is much faster but doubt that you can exchange it now. I always use manual controls and a tripod for macros, hope all this helps you to keep your camera, I love mine.

I like your lyric selection. Too much is made of Smith's dark melancholia; his work is more complex then that. Here's a favorite of mine:

Who's still around the morning after."
Good capture, Peta! John Lennon's orange-tinted spectacles are a nice touch. I understand the connection.
