So many new images to see! You've been very busy. I like this series very much. Midlife crisis with a wry smile... But the guy in that capsule can't be the same one who flies high with this great imagination... Never made it to the catecombs but I did visit the Place St. Michel and Pied de Cochon.

Very interesting and beautiful this one too! So creative and artistic! In a way, a bit funny too, because of the spider over that surprised expression in eyes!

I think I'll never cease to wonder why people keep trying to 'manage' - can you tell it's a word I don't use very often ? - something they should know by now they have absolutely no influence whatsoever on ?! But no wonder why 'badly' comes next then... By the way... How do you know it's your midlife crisis ? Does this mean you know the exact date you'll fade away into the ethereal eternity ? I'm really starting to think this crisis state of you may well be your permanent state and you're only noticing it today... Don't try to escape from it then... It seems to be doing only just good to you !!! :)

Classic, Jim!! I have no McNitts to McPick with this one! Simply terrific! I like the colors, patterns and disparate subjects. The "deer in the headlights" eyes are killer! Also, I didn't know you were a welder in one of your past non-surrealist lives. :-)

Looks like a pretty sturdy capsule there, but the internal negative pressure may be a little much, eh. Scary things outside, and the spider is not the least of your worries. Not exactly subtle, but I suspect that was not the intention either :-)

Greetings from a truly bored person.
I would think that with that many clocks anyone should manage just fine - but then, telling time in Roman is stressful. I like the wide open eyes, they give the picture this rather funny character, and the spider on the head, well, that could induce a mid-life crisis (at least my sister would say so, she hyperventilates every time she sees a spider, to the amusement of my kids).
I love the colours!

When you said you were starting a new series on TIME, I thought you meant the magazine. This is excellent and I've heard those mid-life crises' can be rough. :)

Like the sands in the hourglass, these are the days of our lives!
Relax..go to Schenectady, have a Utica Club, and all will be well. This is really an extraordinary work Jim. So much to take in. I will be visiting this often to glean every morsel. I am not going through a mid-life crisis myself..only 22 years old (um.. emotionally) but ...ah fuck it. I love this shot.

Jim; this is really an excellent work born of what must have been a growing realization and vision. You're absolutely right, when "middle age" is reached time becomes a newly discovered and different element in a persons life. This picture w/ the clock faces (w/Roman numerals I'd note), the welders mask for dealing w/ heat and stress-- spider on the helmut--Wow! You've touched on much of what is scary and hairy about middle life, and BTW, I've already been there;>). I'm glad you made the photo w/ warm colors as I think it indicates optimism (I hope not hell?;>) This one is going into my favorites for content and meaning-- and I hate spiders!
Thank-you for your comments on my photos-- they're especially meaningful to me because you obviously look at the pic and associated comments and make photo or situation specific observations. Not knowing much PS, (PSP in my case) I'm primarily simply a nature photographer-- but I love finding cool abstracts in nature-- I think that's my substitute for good PS work. Cheers. Craig

Jim, Thank you for taking the time to explain to a useless PS user - me. You explained the steps so well that I may well see more into your creations now. Would be interesting if you & Al might consider posting it for all to see and learn? Thank you very much Jim.

Great work Jim, this does suggest a midlife crisis, very humourous and the clock faces on the gear wheels is a great idea as it suggest your life ticking by. Good composition and good effects on the eyes, well done - Richard.

Hi Jim, I would love to know from where do these 'off the wall' ideas come from? And where do you find all the bits to assemble the final picture? How long does each one take? In the case of this new series, does the word 'TIME' come to mind first? Don't at all mean to be rude or funny, just really interested.
As always, you bring a smile. Audrey
