About Maybe one of the easiest small birds to photograph, the Black Capped Chickadees are bordering on tame sometimes. Great to practice on. The colour of the Sumac was what convinced me to post this shot.

Thanks for the comment Subhash.
Whenever I feel a little lack of interest in photography, I usually log on to Usefilm, look through some old photography books or buy a photography magazine. Other people's images are a great inspiration to get the juices flowing again.

yes! you are totally right, background is amazing and the bird posture is great, closing the eye lid is too impotent although the attached picture is fantastic.

Thanks Maja,
It's nice to know that an image taken can get that kind of response :)
See my reply to Sam above this one. I attached another from this shoot that didn't turn out quite as well.

Thanks Sam,
I had another image of one of these birds with a very unusual background colour caused by a moving freight train in the background. The train cars going by were red and yellow and made a beautiful background with the DOF that I used. Unfortunately, I did not post the image because the bird had it's eye lid closed. The eyes are just too important in bird images. That's the way it goes sometimes.
See the attached image below to see what I mean.

Thanks very much Ania.
This type of bird is very willing to let you practice wildlife shots on. I find that if I take a lot of shots of Chickadees, then I am better prepared when a rarer bird appears in front of my lens.

Thanks Gabriella.
It was the velvet like red of the sumac tree, even though not in focus due to DOF, that I liked in this shot.

Thanks Dave,
I never get tired of shooting these little guys. They are extremely photogenic and even a little friendly.
We are waiting for 30cm of snow tonight in our area. Not really all that much, but it's the most we have had all at once in 3 years.
