About One of the factors responsible for low crime rates in Japan is the system of polic boxes. Dotted throughout every part of the city and indeed throughout the country are these boxes. They are staffed by local policemen who serve long enough to become thoroughly familiar with their neighbourhoods--and quick to spot any strange goings on. The architectural styles are as diverse as could be. This is an attempt at "modern" architecture. The variety is enough to encourage me to do a series. Some are really quite odd.
