Tes, they are the same lens. I seem to have been very lucky with mine. It's a little on the "long" side for me, but produces beautiful images with a very nice colour balance.

One of the lenses I use with the Zenit is a Helios-44-2 2/58 with manual aperture stop-down, made in USSR, M42 mount. Maybe it's the same model as yours? (although I haven't yet noticed mine to be *that* sharp)

Roger this is very nice. I see what you mean about that lens and the out of focus background, yes works very nice..you've isolated your subject very well. Out of focus backgrounds are one of my favorites as you can probably tell by looking at my portfolio, and the more out of focus the better, you did a very nice job with this one. The basket of flowers is also very pretty, I know you'll do beautiful macros when you get that lens..I enjoy all of your postings of the florals in Japan, very interesting and your abouts are very nice too...:):)Linda

Virtual 3D, Roger. A fine shot of an everyday subject. Best regards, Chris

Hi, Lily. She is a great neighbour! But you're asking the wrong person the names of flowers. I had a mother with green fingers and got dragged into the garden as soon as I could walk. Built up a lifelong aversion to gardening and a real blind spot for names of plants, flowers and trees... Sorry! (Glad you liked the photo.)

Hi Roger, It is nice to have next door neighbors like her. Cheers up the place. The dof is great and I like the tack sharp pot in front. Excellent composition. Do you by any chance know what the red & white flowers are called? I thought petunias at first, then geraniums and finally decided I better ask.
