About Taken this weekend just after sunrise in the forest of Hesdin, Northern france. Other shots of the deer were a little clearer, but the bluebells in this one makes it special for me.

In the case of this exposure i would absolutely have shot with the lens wide open to 1. isolate the deer as the subject and 2. achieve shutterspeeds that will withstand the wobbly base a monopod setup provides. Your effective focal length for this image (assuming you had the lens at the 200mm position) was 400mm, meaning outside of using the tripod as a tripod, you need to keep the shutterspeed/focal length principle on your mind. By opening the lens up to F4 you would attain 500th sec here, beyond that if your lens opens to 2.8 you could have used slower film as well. If i sound critical, it's only a sign that i think the image was worth the extra effort - the ones that weren't worth shooting in the first place never get commented on at all hehe. Keep those nature images coming, good eyes~
