this is a very nice image.
the composition cannot be better for this time of the day where highlights seem to really play a good part on that matter. another thing i notice and that i find it great is the fact that the two shadows of the pols on the left (in the foreground of composition) do not mingle with the polls on right, thus contributing to a nice melody of highlight and shadows winding deep into the centre ~

a really lovely image Sam,
cheers,
v.

Hi Sam,

Excellent POV on this one. The exposure is outstanding!!!
I love all the colors you captured so well.

I have a similar image to this but I have a person resting against one of the poles but yours is far better than mine.

My best,
Julie.

Hi Joe: I hope that you are having a fantstic weekend. I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate you taking the time to give me your thoughts on my work. I never gave much thought to cropping this image the way you mentioned. I got home last night and I have to tell you that you are RIGHT. It make what I was trying to convay come across a lot better. I have really love learning. getting someelse honest opinion on what they think might make a shot more dramtic and have more impact is AWESOME!! thought people won't always agree because it is so subjective. But this really renews a feeling I haven't had on this site for a long while.

Kind Regards

This shot has a lot going for it. The perspective is very nice, you caught wave action moving toward the viewer coming down the pier, excellent. The light is nice giving some great diagonal shadows working both directions. Colour of the sand with the blue and greens of the water is great.
Not crazy about the central placement of the horizon and the vanishing point. I would crop the top part of the image moving the horizon to near the upper third of the image. Just scroll the image up so that you can only see the bottom two thirds of the image to see what I mean. It even increases the dynamic impact of the wave coming toward you.
Best regards,
Joe

Excellent perspective shot, Sam! I like the way you've caught the wave action just coming down the pier. An unusual aspect of a familiar place, and you've captured it well!
Dave.

Neat shot - unusual perspective. Really like the lights and shadows in this shot - coupled with the right side angles and the water line on the left pier columns you have a great 'X' shaped superinposed on the rectangular openings of the pier. Nice action on the waves too.
