Beautiful colour and effective use of DoF - nice placement of the out of focus flowers in the background. I would crop it tighter though - think it will bring more attenttion to the very nice details of the main flower. Regards.

Heya Julie! Really nice photo and even have a really nice accompanying story in your about for this one. I like how you've got the bigger flower bloom in full focus and the other two are sort of muted, nice. Hope you're staying cool in this INSANE HEAT!!!!

I actually had the background almost as dark as you made it and I thought it was too dark but now that I see what you did I like it better :)

Simple beauty, skilled composition, beautiful pairing of the green and the purple, dear Julie. Well placed point of interest, the largest blossom, which is in focus and perfectly exposed. The only way I can see to improve this image, and you won't know until you try, is to soften some of the highlights of the green foliage in the background. A wall hanger for sure. Two hugs fo this one, and the little piece of very true narrative is a plus. You have brightened my day dear friend. Anson
