Thanks a lot for the nice and detailed comment, Gustavo! I wonder what this would look like of the DoF was much shallower in order to enhance that "progressive blurring" that you talk about. Perhaps I'll try such a style too, and thanks a lot for pointing that out!

This type of colors is typical for Florence too, especially on the facades of houses. So I had a lot of muddy colors to play with!
