Well yes, the similarity is indeed present. Though I would never get the lines so straight by moving the camera.
Best wishes and keep it up!

Thanks for all the information. The broad lines remind me of some of my luxagraphic work with neon-style tubes.

Perhaps because of the region around the window, Andre? I kept it intentionally in that "industrial cold blue", so perhaps it is the "center of the strength"?

Hi James!
The first frame of the multiexposure was a shot of the railway station in Zurich in the night. Most of it in darkness - you can only see the highlighted window. I focused manually and defocused in a relatively great degree for meking it quite soft - it should "dissolve" into the next layers with a blueish light.
After that: The broad lines diagonally from the top left to the bottom right are neon lights. Just a spot metering on them, focused and then defocused slightly to get them a bit soft.
Last frame: The broad lines from the top right to bottom left are neon lights and steel surfaces reflecting light. Again the same techique for shooting the frame.
The neon lights and the metal surfaces are "decoration" of the railway station.
I hope to have answered your questions.
Thanks a lot lot for the interest, and best wishes.
Nick

Hi Nick, I understand. This image has a softness and a real beauty. But it isn't just sweet. It also projects some strength for some reason. Hard to explain. Andre

Cool. What are the broad lines and how did you shoot them?

It has been a triple exposure in the night, james, using three different degrees of soft focus for each take. I forgot to mention that in the about.
Hope to have answered your question, and thanks a lot for the interest.

Yes, Andre, quite right, and also the fact that the neon lights themselves had very soft edges. I tried to make it similar to some kind of... soft icecream advertisement - I hope you understand what I mean!
Best wishes and thanks a lot,
Nick

Yeah, what Doyle said. It's not clear from your About. Did you fan the tubes and then hold still for the scene (making a single long exposure using two subjects) or was this a double (one luxagraphic and one strait)?

Soft and soothing comes to mind first of all Nick. I guess it's the feeling brought on by the soft blending of the crossing lights. Andre

Good color but not sure how you got it . . . looks like a double exposure....(windows, people, stairs).
