About You wouldn't expect a girl like this in the middle of town, she was trying to sell her traditional stuff there, I was amazed by the beauty and relaxt attitude of her, walking between all 'dressed people'... As the Himba tribe are coming from the NorthWest of Namibia, they have their own culture, very friendly people! Its a real contradiction of this cityscape and her natural beauty!

yea, it's wonderfull that these people being again closed to there traditional and why not? we don't get from the modern ways...
here in Greece we forget our past, now I believe in all Europe we really are almost the same and at my place today it's difficult to find a guy wearing traditional cloths, you must try hard to find a very small village around the mountains and perchaps, if you will be lucky, you'll see a very old guy with these black clothing...
hahaha... my clothing has nothing to do with traditions lol... even at work, I use jeans and common clothes... however that is pitty, and so at Netherlands that you ALSO have very special traditions... anyway, it looks like time as pass, makes us to forget our ways and traditions...
be well my friend!

I must admit I was amazed too John...this wasnt the real area where they came from, can you imagine she travels at the same bus as me...or you..loll
They live more up north west of Namibia, and you cant just walk into these villages like that, which is ok i think, having their own culture! But I think you Greek people have a lot of tradion as well, isnt it? These dancers in special clothes, lovely dresses for the ladies...did you wear this when you were young?? Would love to see it:)))

Another great contrast shot of yours.. if i was to be extremely picky i would have suggested zooming out just a bit more to get all her right arm in.......... nevertheless a great shot as it is

This is a wonderful capture, the modern structures at the background really adds interest to this photograph. Her color is unusual enough to catch the attention but with this lamp post and building really makes a good composition..
great shot!!
