oh, dave, i think this is possibly the best photo i've *ever* seen of venice. it is so gorgeous, with the moon, the poles, that lovely gondola, the lighthouse and lights. perfect!

Venice is FANTASTIC (never mind 'cool' Dave :) I cannot remember knowing that you also went there. Has to be the most magical, photogenic, city in the world. I lost my heart to Venice....

There is so much movement in this image, despite the fact that it pretends to be peaceful! The dimmed rich colors say something about a quite evening but the surface of the water implies to me a wind that gets stronger and stronger. I t5hink that the electrifying blue enhances my impression further. So it's like the silence before the storm!
The DoF is very good though perhaps there is some remaining tiny percentage of sharpness that is missing. Still great focusing considering the low light conditions! And a very nice game of geometry with all the poles that rise from the water. This adds much to the perceived depth.
Well, Dave, Venice might be coll, but the image is great in revealing some of its more unusual faces that we don't see too often.

Very nice and calming image, I love the tones, the slight green hue of the water and the bluish hue of the sky and boat, especially when contrasted with the rough water, make this image a beauty. Congrats!
