Thanks, Debjit... as you well know with Mono, there's not a lot to find that isn't already visible to everyone who visits. I was surprised the tufa area was this small. I assumed the whole lake was full of them. So it worried me that all shots would be boring and duplicate everybody else. So your words are important.

well I think you get well the work here, reflect is nice and the gulls are a great add here, the lighting from the sun helps a lot, and the only think for me has to do with the focus...somehow you ''target' strongly to the birds and personaly I would like to see more rock details...that is not bad, not at all...however I could ask for an f/22 here... I think that place wants it...
excellent shot, worths the 7 rate my friend...that is just an opinion...

This image is great Dave. I'm glad you chose this title, because it adds to the overall effect. I would not have thought about what the seagulls were eating, nor the disgust of it...especially with such a beautiful scene in the background. I agree with your choice of framing, since the birds are more of the "subject matter". Plus, with you DOF, the entire frame is clear.

Love the light. For me Dave the photo is OK, the gulls are the protagonist here. Is a pity the blue dominance in the shadows of the mountains, but is normal in some hours of the day....

I think this composition works just fine, but yes without the foreground birds it might look a bit empty.. Nice blend of warm and cold colors. The shot has good depth to it, with the three different elements (foreground,the rocks and finally the mountains in the back).Nice work!
