Yes, you are right to see some similarities to the two images. I took "Destination" about a half hour earlier, just before the fog lifted to allow the blue sky through for this image. Both were taken from a very low perspective while in a kayak.

I don't say that so often anymore, Andre, but this one *does* have something of a painting, including the softer contours and the coloring. I also see some resemblance of composition to your image "Destination". Ripples that form the perspective to the depth, fog, horizon. And of course that kind of silence when one knows again about the own self.

One thing I really like about this one (beside the mist and fog) was the way the shadows looked on the waves. I think I got lucky with that part of the image. It wasn't really planned.

The low angle without any land in the foreground, is because of taking the shot from a kayak. A bit risky for the camera, but the perspective is worth it :)

...anyhow...on A cool, late summer morning on the Madawaska River....if you look long enough...and hard enough...you can see the swampbirdman...someplace...

Yeah, I'm doing a lot of mist lately. It isn't as easy as it first appears to get mist and fog looking good. I like the subtle look of the fog in images so that it softens the horizon.
