I simply love this composition Roby. What fascinates me also is that wooden architrave core atop that beautiful Tuscan column. Of course, that would have been faced with travertine or something like it in its heyday, YET the whole corpus of classical architecture is modelled around the wooden huts which predated stone masonry. If one looks at, say, stone triglyphs on classical friezes, they represent the wooden end-beams of supporting rafters. Thanks to your image, all of this has come flooding back in my mind, and reminds me to post some of the extraordinary buildings i saw recently in your wonderful country... I DO miss Italy :)

A very interesting little corner by all means .. including the light, and shadows, and the many tones, and different forms of textures- there is really so much to view here. Very nice image Roby...in something that could be over-looked very easily by the non-photographic EYE :))

La pietra ed il legno che si incrociano in questa strana e cadende struttura dal sapore vagamente dark, sono stati ripresi veramente bene ed il viraggio conferisce un'atmosfera ancor più decadente alla scena. Molto bella.

I admit, it's a little hard to find, the thing, the beauty you had in mind taking this shot.
Using your context I find that you may see this view thousands time and always think, someday I will take a shot, someday.
And, this time you see a warm light all over and decide to take it.
