About Lincoln City claims this as the Shortest River in the World.... It is called the D- river because it runs from Devils Lake into the ocean ..so it simply crosses under-the hyway..and runs down the beach... very , very short alright....I just am not sure what exactly constitutes a River by name :))

Interesting and almost abstract Dear Michele . . . super tough with the challenging exposure. I do like the diagonal shoreline in the composition . . . well chosen.

You also sent me out scurrying about to find the definition . . . and there's a zillion of them. The geological one is:
A large permanent stream of water, originating at a source and flowing along a fixed course, usually into a lake or the sea at its mouth.
Mostly, it's subjective as to size and permanence which varies with all rivers over time anyway. Apparently, if you want a river you just call it a river . . . ditto for streams, brooks, creeks, etc.

I'm reminded of (I think) Monty Python who claimed the first person to use the word "Great" in front of Britain was being sarcastic. :P (Apologies to my British friends . . . ) Sometimes it's all about the name . . . D may have been 'Damn' River until it came time to print up maps and someone said "Oh no you don't"! Who knows. Anyway . . . interesting as all get out!

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Good texture, I like a lot the way you use the 'line' between the water and the sand in diagonal way, sharpness and generaly details are pretty good even that could be even more sharp,
....hmmmm....think a shot like that with an object as a main target in a corner, I have in my mind now a red hut for excamble, on the sand or anything else...
Excellent abstract like texture...7/7
Cheers!

Hi Nicki,

Yesterday it was sooooo beautiful I was sitting on the deck of this restaruant that is on the beach but also has this D-River
flowing by it... so I just leaned over the edge and took a few shots from probably 20 feet above the river... with the SUN blasting on it ... I did have a filter which totally helped or I don't think this would've worked !
Sooooooo my dear to answer your question if I was on the beach I guess I was in-between:)) altho when I walk out of the restaurant I am on the beach ...if this helps ((?)))
Best Wishes for a great evening my dear ...
Hugsssss from Green Oregon...Michele~

This is so well done, Michele. A hard shot due to reflections and light, but you managed to take it so well. I love this combination of the light dancing on the surface of the water and the stones lying there in a nice pattern in the freash clear water. Very nice tones as well! I can see that you´re improving!
Take care
Annemette
