Oh, I'm excited for you Michele! You just play around with it and the learning will follow. In the old days, when I was shooting 35mm experimenting cost a lot of money. With digital . . . it's free. Now that you have a DSLR . . . you should always keep in mind ONE thing! Glass (lens quality) is of top importance. I'm guessing they're still putting the Nikkor 18-55mm in with the body? If so, that's a good lens for general use . . . which is what you are learning anyway . . . If not - let me know which lens you are using. Note that the wide-angle setting (UNzoomed all the way) will even give a little bit of a fisheye look if the subject is close. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me . . . that camera you have is VERY much like ours and works the same way too! :)

Ho Ho HO!
Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Oh how exciting Doyle ! and I missed it too... Dang.. is there some way I can look it up and see what they say? Doyle ... I just got back from Salem and I got myself a Nikkon D40 camera !! It's very cool.. I love it. The batteries are charging and I've been reading the manual ..I was gonna get the D50 like you have but this was a bit cheaper and apparently not much difference.. this is what the salesmen said .. It's gonna take awhile to learn ...But I am just excited so much !! Tell Marlyce I finally got it !! Also got a camera case, and memory stick totaled $650 !!! The lens is wonderful too !!!
Thanks Doyle.

Dear Annemette,

Such interesting stories you've got my friend ! That hurricane sounded a bit spooky... and I'd never heard of the rododendrumplants in Scotland ...WoW ! Fun to learn new things .....
I like to think there is a secret garden with a castle on the other side ..ha! A romantic version !

Best Wishes ,
Michele~

Dear Michele
This almost reminds me of a time when most of the trees in the forest nearby were broken by a hurricane. There was no way in or out. Or what about the rhododendrumplants that are considered to be weed in Scotland because they grow much too rapidly there, and sheep and even children get stuck in them without being able to get out!
I like places like that were you almost can´t get in because I always feel that there must be so wonderful on the other side:-)
Take care,
Annemette

This certainly is a different subject. Most people walk through nature and never see a thing. A few see and enjoy its beauty. You are one of those who see art.

Unique Michele . . . this shot (to my eye) has too much yellow. Check if your camera has a white balance setting . . . (I don't recall off-hand) and adjust for it. With the yellow eliminated . . . the shot has a very natural feel.

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~
