Phillip, another nice shot. How about the thumbs in the beltline and the pretty fingers out. Looks good.

Luis, I really don't know why you have this bur under your saddle old boy. I asked a question of you, nothing more, nothing less.

When I elaborate on comments made about my photos, I want to make sure that the people commenting, understand possibly why they look like they do.

I don't go into great detail about how the shot was creating, or what was going on at that time, in the about section of the post.

I'll be the first to admit about flaws in my work, such as "proper posing techniques, hair lighting, lighting in general, shooting angles, etc.... BTW, I was wondering, do you shoot anything in the studio. Almost all of your work on this site, was taken outside. Quite a bit of difference in pulling off a look in that type of arena.

I'm in no way defending my photos or any crituqes. As long as my customers are happy, I'm happy. I post images here for (2) reasons only. (1) to share photos, (2) to get feedback. Pure and simple. A comment like [make needs work] is worthless, without further details to work on. Why bother?

You had made a brief comment about makeup with no details to follow, that's why I asked.

Oh, thats pretty much it Luis, have a good one today. I've already wasted enought time just typing this up.

Regards,

Everytime someone comments on your photos you defend your decision. I understand you made some of these decisions, but what's the point of asking for a critique if you just fend off all the suggestions with "I know but I wanted it this way."

It's hard to speak about the makeup - it looks very generic, like what she would wear everyday, and it needs some work in the application. It is not subtle at all - sometimes a lack of subtelty is useful, but this doesn't work.

She has bags under her eyes, she could use some concealer and foundation to cover those lines up to make the area look smoother. With such a strong look on the lips, something with the eyes might have been useful to balance the look out a bit. The red that's used on the lips is kind of awkward, being so close to the mint green of the shirt. Check out Face Forward, or Making Faces by Kevyn Aucoin.

Luis, please elaborate on what areas with regard to makeup you feel needs working on. Can you be a bit more specific?

Thankx..

Thankx all for your observations.

She was very relaxed, and was a pleasure to work with. She did some modeling back a while ago. Not sure when. I asked her to drop her chin a bit, so I could get her to look up at me through those eyes.

With regard to the hands, they were just hanging in her jeans as shown. I didn't like her left elbow flying out, so I cropped the picture a bit tighter from that side.

The makeup needs some work - and her chin looks bad tucked in that way. Chin out a bit more...

Phillip, Lovely model... Made me look. As for the pose, it does show her features nicely. The pose is also a bit awkward with the hands almost hovering and the elbow missing on the right of the frame. Was she relaxed in the shot? I know lots of people go for the 'pose' that they think you want... Nice shot and I hope you will share more with use in the future. Sam

I'm sure her husband will appreciate this :) Pictures are one of the nicest things you can get while in boot camp. I agree with Marty, the hands just don't seem quite right. Regardless, nice shot.

Nice lighting, perfectly exposed photo. I would like to see the rest of the model's arm and her hands in a more natural position. Pulling the top button of her jeans or resting on the back of her hips would accentuate her curves and great abs. :)
