Oh so this is Roland the spoiled cat;-) Wonderful dark, large cat! After being in a shelter he deserves this good treatment.

In your search for a new family member you will know when it is just the right time and just the right choice.
Our Zoe died this past November and still no dog in sight would be the right one.
Ww are not rushing it as Roland likes to be the center of attention anyways. :) :)

Wow, he is just so perfectly lovely...you've won several hearts in this house!! We are in the middle of searching out our own special addition to the household, but are having trouble finding one. It is a bit difficult after losing our little "Bully" so brutally last year. Anyway, big hugs to Roland from all of us :)

Mahassa -- Thanks for your comment and concern. Roland has a pretty good life now and he is well taken care of and loved. What is so sad is that people abuse innocent creatures at all. There are too many in animal shelters today.

Meg -- Your experience is a strong parallel to mine (like the "attacked" part) and I really enjoy hearing about Her Nibs. At least Socks will eat when she is hungry enough; Roland on the other hand had a track record of passive starvation if the food did not meet his specifications.

So good to see Roland content with his dinner!
Socks on the other hand yesterday was very discontented with her chicken and turkey dinner and was having none of it!!!!!
I was having a 'be firm day' and I wouldn't give in....the little madam attacked me for that them disappeared upstairs all day in a huge sulk.
For once I was strong, so although she still didn't eat it she was VERY hungry today and waiting for her food…. everything was put away in record time.........Now she sleeps.

Lovely shot Jan... the grey hardly shows... I'm sure Roland would be chuffed if he knew he looked distinguished with a touch of silver... :))) Maybe Grecian 2000 for felines if he is a tad self conscious...;)))

roland is so clever..
you do good to control it, the eyes " say " that it is muuuuuuuuuuch clever !
I have slept well, 8have a terrible thunderstorm this night) but the day of job is hard.. I am as re-entered in office, now!
many "head" has spoken with me, and I have badly of head..

Thanks so much for your comments, Nicole. Roland is spoiled but he was an abused cat that we got from a shelter and we give him everything we can to make up for his bad life before he joined our family.
I posted a few pictures in the past week telling a story about Roland's one and only food not being available anymore and our trials and tribulations to find a new food that he would eat.
Now he is eating his new food and he is very happy!!

AJ -- He has been eating the new stuff like there is no tomorrow and he is one of the fussiest eating cats that I have ever encountered. To be fair though, many have shared similar stories about their cats with me, including equally fussy descriptions from Meg Metcalfe about her cat, Socks. Socks is a real beauty but has some pretty strange eating habits.
Thanks for the good wishes to this weird guy. He is very contented in this picture.
