About Although it was a sunny and not as normally windy day at the beach yesterday... the Ocean didn't seem to know it--- Lots of action going on here- and I dared not turn my back as the in-comming tide was quite fierce...( didn't want to loose my tripod :)

Hi ms Carlsen,
This is a good pic, but in MY opinion, reducing the sky and applying the rule of thirds, the focus switches to the waves. I hope you don't mind this constructive criticism.
Your Mate,
JD

Thank YOU Robbie for All Your helpful tips ! I of course use a fine camera case that I bought with my camera and it's pretty tight - so you think a plastic bag + the case (where I always keep it un-less shooting?)
Thank You for the kind support my friend :)

Best wishes,
Michele~

Beautiful image Michele, wonderful colors of the sea and very good composition.
You don`t change lenses so I don`t think it`s sand
but you can get dust just by using the camera especially when you zoom.Your sensor isn`t dirty, you should see mine which is been cleaned by a camera shop. Not gonna mess with it.The dust spots will have to be clone out.Salt is very bad for cameras,I think you should put it in a plastic
bag or seal it so it won`t be affected. When it`s raining use it too.
7++++++
Take care
Robbie

Hi Joe,
Second attempt to write you - poof went the last message :(

Thank you for your thorough and helpful critique..... I had to stay in the wet sand beacuse of the wind and sand blowing heavy enough to do more damage if I faced it......
Anyway... I generally do take equal amt's of ocean + beach shots but opted for the safty of the no sand blowing at me yesterday.

I have not tried to use a bulb blower to remove the dust yet- just another thing on my list that needs to get crossed off. I had a busy day. Remember I work for a florist and Mothers Day is Sat. plus my daughters b-day so I am also pre-occupied and tired too! I do appreciate how simple you've made it sound so I defintely will get with that repair asap- since taking images it's going to continue to show until I do ...right?

I do appreciate your information very much Joe- I have been trying to learn about selling stock photography and everywhere has it's own language , style and way to comply sooooo my brain could actually be fried --lol!! Hope not.....
Take Care my Friend,
Michele~

Very nice seascape Michele, the simplicity of the shot is attractive, the greens and blues are nice. Very good use of the light and exposure,
What mm lens are you using for this shot? I wonder what this shot would look like if you raised the horizon to near the top of the image and included some of the beach.

Have you tried blowing the dust off the sensor with a bulb blower? It is an easy and relatively safe procedure, just follow the directions in your camera manual. It may not remove all the stuff. To remove all the debris, it has to be cleaned with liquid and swabs. The only stuff I would use for this is sold by Copper Hill Images. Also, you can take it to a shop and pay them to clean your sensor, likely around $100.00. I doubt you need to do that. Until it gets bad enough to require swabbing, blowing off the dust and removing the spots after the fact with a software program is the best way to go. I doubt very very much it is sand. If it is, it would be very easy to remove it with the blower. The specks on the sensor are more noticeable at high f stops.
All the best,
Joe

I certainly should have THESE shots down pat by now my Friend....I wonder how many 1,0000 I have taken ?????? Well I am using a tripod for a change- and I just can't resisit these shots my friend but I don't want to be boring so thank you for noticing some changes for the better, like colors and hues of the water-

Thank You for Your comment and support thru all this time - It means a lot:))

Thank YOu for your comments John and the compasion for the 'dust' .... hope it's NOT sand.....ohhhh I worry for that:(( There is some special stuff to clean with but I am afraid to get near the sensor too. It is a wierd tubular fog line that hangs along the horizon quite often ...living here so long I notice it quite often... YOU my friend have the Good Eye to notice EVERYTHING :))
Cheers,
Michele~

Hmmmmm...I saw it at the landscape too, you have the same problem with me, dust, I hate that, my nerves goes to hell when I looks to my photos and see these spots, I had 100s but a friend of mine try to clean them up....not all, the sensor is very delicated to tatch it, ...anyway, very nice here too, the details of the sea's texture is very good and also nice color scale of the sky.
WOW....I like that thin line of clouds that goes paraller way with the horizon!!!
Bye! ;-)
