We used to call these blind bees when we were kids and enjoyed catching them as they don't sting. I guess this one was captured on a frosty morning before it was warm enough to fly. Brilliant detail and composition.

Incredible Joggie Amazing details and very crisp colours. The drops are a big bonus but even without the drops it would still be a stunning shot.

You've done it again Joggie. Fantastic macro. The details are amazing. I've just purchased a macro flash and extension tube for my macro lens. Maybe soon I will be able to capture beautiful images like this. Cheers, Ann.

Thanks Russel - I aggree on the DoF. This is a trade-off between speed and aperture. This was taken directly after a light drizzle and with a fresh wind blowing. I used the 105mm Micro with the 2.75X Panagor Macro converter, free hand with the ringflash. I could push the f stop to f22 and drop to 80th/sec but that would result in a blurred photo because of the fresh breeze blowing. Choices!

Hi Joggie, as always a very nice macro, and what makes your photo`s even better is the little write up you give with the photo`s, always very interesting. My only quibble is the DOF. The loss of detail between the 2nd & 3rd limb and underside of body,:). But still a very good macro. Well done!!
