Thanks Ray . . . Ol' Pokey was a no show at the last three stake-outs! :( - On the other hand . . . Marlyce has added Christmas decorations to the cactus (ouch) including lights...... and I've enjoyed the chase . . . even if I haven't captured that glorious red-throated image yet. I'm glad to know my amusing and informative 'abouts' (your words not mine) have not been overlooked by all . . . though I'm sure not everybody reads them . . . they do add (IMO) a little something to the image. We just got enough rain to get the ground wet here . . . ("STORMWATCH" hits the news at about 1/4inch). LoL! Anyway, Fire season has seemingly passed us and flood season begins!

An excellent capture my dear friend and I think it's great compensation for the absent 'Pokey.' I have no doubt in my mind that you will persevere and get your man, oops I mean bird  Love the title and you are far punnier than I dear Doyle. Thanks very much Hanna . . . I don't know about the patience but I can tell you bees in flight are not easy . . . and require luck as well . . . LOTS of luck. Oh, and some SPARE TIME too . . . The more the better. In a surprise twist of fate . . . it turns out that cologne (and perfume I suppose) is not a good idea during these attempts . . . . trust me! :P

A nice story of your effort to catch "pokey". Well, patience pays. I am sure you will get him good. About the pic you posted, the bee in flight looks very good and I liked the composition giving a good shallow DOF.

Thanks Riny . . . I decided not to sharpen the bee and risk the 'halo' effect . . . also, I think the highlights in the bee would have become blown out from sharpening which, generally, has an increase in contrast side-effect. The wafer thin wings might also have suffered. BUT . . . for a bee in flight . . . I don't mind putting my name on this lil guy! :)
