About This is the last in this series of street scenes from Oyama. The sky was quite beautiful, and made a strong contrast with the busy-busy streets, but it was too bright to capture easily.

Hi Roger,

I just borrowed the Horizon but I probably will buy one- there is a compact version as well which is quite affordable.

Thanks, Thilo. There was an unusual quality to the light that autumn afternoon--luminous. And the D200 has captured it well. I am gradually getting to like it! I don't see any more of you swing-lens panoramas these days, Thilo. Did the novelty pall? (I can't say anything, though, as I sold mine...)

Jessie, *I* wish I was there to help you! Although I'm not very knowledgeable about digital cameras and all their various options. I am beginning to regret that I got the D200 rather than the D80. That new dynamic range compression feature is something I could use on every panorama and most shots I take... {sigh}

Thanks, Tim. Yeah, those bright splashes of colour really work, don't they!

If you have older Nikon lenses, specially MF ones, that you want to use, you have to choose the D200. That wasn't important to me--I only have the 28mm F/2.8 Nikon AiS lens that I use on my 120 films rotary camera... Apart from that, and the plastic body rather than the nice metal body of the D200, I think the D80 has it. But I must admit that getting a nice WIDE lens has made this camera much more appealing to me. I got the Tamron 11-18mm and I love it.

hey I really like how the colors pop in contrast to the grey tones through out....how are you liking the D200? I was looking at that as well as the D80. There are pluses for both and it is hard to make up my mind which would serve me better.
