About This is the well-beaten track to the Takao Shrine on Mt. Takao, an hour or so by train from Tokyo. I took the cable railway halfway up the mountain and walked for about an hour to get to the shrine. This was taken on the way up. "Easy to walk all the way down," I said to myself. Famous last words. Missed a turning, walked for HOURS and arrived exhausted. Never again! I do have some good photos as evidence of the trip, though...

There seems to be such great scenery that it would be easy to just keep walking and enjoying. I guess we sometimes forget that it will be equally as far to come back. Sorry you got lost. That must have been discouraging. This seems such a great place ot enjoy nature and a quiet afternoon.

We did the same trip, end of April! It might be a beautiful place - as your photo is a perfect proof to my statement - but extremely crowded!Even in the middle of the week!
