hold on to your aching heart
I'll wipe the liquor from your lips
a small town hero never dies
he fades a bit and then he slips
down into the blast furnace
by the heat of an aching heart
blackhawk and the white winged dove

dunno who wrote but its on Emmylou Harris' album
Wrecking Ball check it

Cheers Jon, thanks for that! Yes, he's a smart man that Laurie McIntosh. There are times I wish I could consult with him first :) Not to worry, at the end of the day, the point was to set myself a little challenge and make it fun at the same time. I'm over the moon that folk have reacted this well to the series.

And hey, SC's are all about personal taste. You thought Waterboy III was special enough to post, so it stands to reason other like-minded people will feel the same way :) Ok, now that all sounds like I'm saying none of us have any taste... so I'll just stop typing ;)

Thanks again!

Love this series - I came across it in a comment on one of Andre Denis' pictures. I agree with the poster who wanted a hair more DOF to bring the rest of him into focus. Congrats on the DoD. I got a laugh out of your comment to Andre about it. I got an SC award (my first ever UF award) for a picture that I would never have thought would strike anyone as overwhelmingly special. No accounting for tastes, I guess :-]

Cheers,

Jon

Straight back at ya Ray! Loved doing this series and I'm very glad I chose not to use boring old shells. May have to go on to doing episode 4. A call's gone out for Peter Parker's girlfiend to save him. I dunno though. Might be better to see how far the UFO story line can go...

Here I am on the Ketchup trail sweet Rina. It seems strange seeing Spidey in this pose having seen the one that follows first. You can sense his longing for some action:):) Well done sweeting a wonderful example of controlled dof. Great colour, details and textures. Very best wishes and a great big hug.....Rayx

Definitely an original and a great idea Rina! His pose makes him look like he really is longing to join in! Toys clearly more fun than reality!

Una foto molto particolare e originale. Complimenti per il soggetto e per lo scatto in se, veramente ben realizzato.

OP, GG? [tsk] Use the ancient O.U.Z.O formula. If that doesn't mutate your bio, nothing will...

Lovely work, very well thought out... (and played :) )

Rina, I think the DOF's too tight... I'd have gone more towards a smaller aperture, enough to get him completely in focus, and to allow a little more of the background to come in.

....I once tried mutagenic alteration of my body chemistry using an excellent and potent product called Bundaberg OP, the effect was quite dissappointing, rather than the anticipated scaling of walls my alternate personality caused me to attempt to walk around on one arm and one leg randomly engaging people in earnest conversations of which they understood not a word....then there was my attempt to win the affections of a beautiful classmate.....but I digress, you are a clever photographer, creative and imaginative, I enjoy your work and the commentary that it evokes, yours, the Green Goblin.

Ha ha!! That is so cool Andre! I don't have a desk mascot, but now that I see yours, I'll be raiding my son's toy box as soon as I'm done here!

Loved playing around with the dof like that. Was a fun experiment. I do have a couple more spidey shots to come in the series. Poor thing gets into a world of trouble at the beach ;)

Have seen Fadel's images with the tiger a while back, hilarious stuff, and will definitely check out Dr Feelgood's portfolio... just as soon as I find me a mascot...

Cheers!

Hi Rina,
Don't you just love the way the DOF came out in this one? Perfect for the title!
There are a couple of guys here at this site that have done some great images along these lines. The guy from Poland, Dr. Feelgood and Fadel J. Both have some really great images that incorperate small figurines or toys into natural surroundings. The ones by Dr Feelgood of his little toy Zebra in the grass, are fantastic and well worth the visit. Fadel J has some beautiful shots with a little toy tiger and a large hand.

And just to prove that some people never grow up. Check the attachment.
Andre
