Nice warm shot, Dave. It still feels like a winter sun. You caught him well posed and with catch light. We don't have many of these. Occassionally, there is one who likes to peck on metal chimneys.

Hi Dave,
Nice shot of the Flicker! You might be seeing a few more now over the next little while. A couple of weeks ago here there was only a couple in the area. Now there are a lot of them just moved in. They are competing with other birds for their territory, so we see a lot of fights going on.

I just love flickers, Dave! We have some that feed at our feeders, but they are very flighty (no pun intended :) so I haven't even come close to getting a shot of one of them! This is a nice one!
