I am not always that fond of B&W but this is the perfect shot for it. I like it very much. Del.

Great range of grey tones, Dave! Composition is interesting with dynamic diagonal and triangular space.

It works beautifully in B&W, a richness of details that is very pleasant and a texture with which you can play in creating variations! It is a shot that asks for a variety of studies!

The strength of your details is amazing here, Dave, but without creating the look and feel of some image that is too busy. I guess that it was a very good choise to make it B&W, since the many contrasts did remain also uniform is some sence, and so they don't distract the eye form the main subject.

good shot, the contrast helps a lot here so the details looks perfectly, nice diagonal way into your frame too...
be well!

The black and white format really accentuates the texture of the tree and the grass around it's base Dave. Cropped, you could get two or three interesting abstracts out of this one image. Well seen--Bill Voizin
