Hello Shirley!
Glad you like the shot. :)
Yes indeed! It was pretty chilly that day to be wandering around in anything other than big winter clothes - about 6 degrees, I think. Personally, I'm happy to give playing in the sand a miss when it's that cold, but my son isn't too worried by a minor thing like hypothermia. ;)
Take care, SQirl

Thanks Ray! Glad you like the photo. :)
I know what you mean about the obligatory "happy family" shots - I find myself being required to produce lots of these, particularly since I bought the D70S. Oddly enough, my family used to just indulge my penchant for landscapes and animals and fast cars and things with barely a comment about the lack of people in the shots - until my son was born. That said though, I love taking photos of my son, so that's okay. :)
Take care, SQirl

Hi SQirl!! It's lovely! Your explanation enhances it. Now - how do we know that shot is not taken in warm sunny South Africa?? The layers of clothing worn at the beach :) Cheers Shirley

Busy fingers SQirl with a wonderful in camera crop. Great details and lovely colour tones. My wife, family and friends are only ever placated if I present them with happy family groups seen as large specks on a vast background so I have to be careful that a percentage of work takes the form of snaps....Heyho. All the best...Ray
