The angle of this is brilliant! The lines of the paths and to see that bit of water is lovely.

Ha! Made me laugh - I'm glad you resisted their urge to punt you off the stairs. :)
Yes, give it a try this winter. Grey skies might be nice with this scene. It's worth a shot anyway! (oops, no pun intended, lol)
Regards, Gayle
(and thanks for commenting on my unoriginal sunset photo...)

Hi there Renato,
Thanks for your nice words, glad you like the photo. I'll probably post a few more from this series. :)

Hiya Terry,
Yep, like I just said to Gayle, I'd much rather have had the shot without the people in it. I've got others taken around the same time, lots of atmospheric clouds and rolling mountains and dark forbidding towers... and a genius in a yellow T-shirt. Oh well! C'est la vie.
I might have a shot with a little more "left" in it, I'll have a look and post it if I can find it.
Thanks Terry! As always. :*

Hi Gayle, thanks for your comment! :)
Yes, the tourists were a bit of a nuisance. Especially the large crowd of students that tried to punt me off the stairs of the towers that you see in the shot... Narrow mediaeval staircases and 40 rowdy students don't make a good combination.
But anyway! I plan on going back in winter to see if I can get photos without the people. But I fear it might be a tradeoff - I can either have people and nice skies, or no people and washed-out grey skies. But we'll see. :)
All the best, SQirl

Hi Doyle! :)
Thanks for your comment. A lower POV? I like the idea, but I don't know if it would work in practice. The castle authorities may take a dim view of me abseiling down their precious 13th century walls. :) I'll have a look through my shots and see if I can find something along those lines!
Take care, SQirl

I like the composition SQirl. Beautiful shot. If you could lose the people and add a bit to the left hand side of the picture, I'd like it a lot better.

I like your compo here very much, and I don't think it's "postcardy." :) I wish the people weren't there, but I know it's hard to capture a tourist attraction without tourists! Gayle

Wooo Hoooo! Cool shot and I happen to like the POV. How to make it less "Postcardly"? Perhaps a very low POV? Maybe? I, however, like this one. Very Nice!!
