Joel:
After buying those massive lights, take a look at the REAL professional. Why light people when you can light whole billboards or buildings?

Hugo,
I so enjoy your comments! I see what you're saying. This morning, I was looking at a print of this, and love the 'life' in it. It's that head tilt (amazing what a little dutch on the camera does!). It was your comment about one of the other images that drove me to make this as *crisp* and sharp as possible. I agree....weakest in composition, that's almost saved by it's dramatic lighting. I hear it in my wifes voice when I ask her about this image. "it's nice" ...that's my cue to try harder!
thanks again for the great feedback, and support!
cheers, -joel

Hi Joel,
The thing that strikes me is the rather centered, and slightly tilted composition in this one. On one hand pretty confronting, yet within this series, I think it's the weakest in it's composition, yet the strongest in lighting. Also, the background (very clever and creative use of common means again) is pretty strong. Another strong feature of this shot is the way you've captured the material of the porcelain and the textures in t he dummy.
Great series, getting more and more refined by the upload!
Cheers,
Hugo

Fabulous light painting in this one!! But you might want to do something about the 'glazed' look your subject has... LOL!!!

I think I like what you did here, there's more drama with the lights, IMO. good effects too. I can see the clearly the illustrations on the face of this doll. thanks for your explanation, I know better your intentions.. regards..
