About I love the colors red and green. I have not the faintest idea what this plant is but I know I liked it, hope you do also.

Very striking composition Kelly, great colors and DOF. Great clarity in the center and you can see the fuzz on the petals outside. I like those tiny purple things with the yellow pollen. I'm no help when it comes to plants, but I see you've found out from Susie and others. Great macro! Ina

Beautifully taken floral composition my dear Kelly with excellent details throughout. The red is absolutely stunning as it is a b----r of a colour to catch right. Well done to you sweetie...All the best...Ray

This is weird Kelly. I received your comment to me via email but it's not here in the thread. A bug perhaps?

Anyway....I know what you mean about zoos. Funny you should mention the zoo. Rod and I were only talking about zoos this morning and we agreed the only zoo we would ever visit is one where the people are locked in cars or similar and the animals roam free. I won't go to any other zoo. I'm too much of an animal empath.

I remember another member who went to the zoo and posted photos of walls. I get such a kick out of these no animal zoo shots. LOL :)

Cheers - Ann :)

An absolutely gorgeous macro Kelly. Stunning reds and I've heard they are the hardest colour to capture. You've done a great job of getting this one though. Great DOF and the green makes for a beautiful contrasting background. Razor sharp details and clarity. Superb photo. Just love it!

Cheers - Ann :)

PS I thought it was looking straight into one of those chinese red poppies but it looks like it's not. Have to go check out Susie's now to see what it is.

Hi Kelly,
Great shot! I have one of these plants too and I think it is some sort of miniature decorative maple plant. Check out my pic of it: http://www.usefilm.com/Image.asp?ID=924152
Nice colors and focus here. Good job.
Susie

Excellent macro, Kelly! I love those saturated reds and greens together and you've got great detail in the stamen! Well done!
Dave.
