About This is my firt night time picture. I went to Coronado Island and photgraphed the San Diego sky line. Much to my suprise all 40 pictures were awful. I did not realize that one need a tripod and needed to absulutley still to take these pictures. I have 40 wonderfull abstract looking pictures with tracer lights all over them. A good lesson learned. Blagh...... This is the only one that minutely turned out.

wonderfull try Kelly, i was gonna suggest tripod untill i read your about :)
another thing to get full use of your posted night photos is to provide the settings with them, by so others can tell you more tips and advices about the useage of aperture and shutter speed and so on.
as for this one, the exposure is perfect, if it wasn't alittle soft, it would be a PERFECT night shot. why is this the only one in your portfolio? keep it going :)
waiting for more work.

Note to self...learn from Kelly's experience when I am ready to take some night shots. Always use a tripod. (I didn't know that) :)

I like the soft effect but I'm presuming this isn't what you were after. Are those green lights supposed to be oval slants like that or is that the effect of no tripod? Anyway....I think it's got lovely composition and I love the reflection and the framing too.

Thanks also Kelly for taking the time to view and comment on my images. Cheers - Ann :)

Very nice shot Kelly .I also learned the same lesson on the very hard way you mentioned .Currenrly I never shoot at night without a tripod specially if I use zoom lens

Not a bad effort... Now if you had just aimed down at the reflection you would have masked that camera shake by the ripples in the water!! Keep shooting Kelly... you'll eventually get a great one. Thanks for your wonderful comments. (o: Cheers, Gary

I can see that you needed a tripod, Kelley, but this is a very pretty shot! The tones and colors are beautiful, and I love the frame! It sets it off perfectly! Definitely keep at it!
Kathy
