Meant to add...

Too much of a "neatimage" or plastic feel to me, just the style aspect. This is just a personal taste choice...

; )

This needs much more...

Very ordinary to me... soft DOF yes, but nothing compelling...

Some of your others are interesting. ; )

The ps action is how you got the softness? I don't understand. When I set the blur to 40+ and the mode to multiple the effect seems to be negated. The de-saturizing does little too. All these actions in a duplicate background layer at 100% opacity has no effect. Am I missing something?

nathan combs   {K:2242} 2/13/2006
the PS action is how i got the softness in the photo i do it in a lot of photos her eyes are REALLY blue and seem to really pop well with the right lighting but i think it high light her eyes when i did the processes it dues it as a side effect some times and i town down the color saturation a lot of the time i may have used the saturation brush added saturation to her eyes then 10% doge highlights then burned 10% burn the shadows on the eyes with the doge and burn tool some thing i also do with some of the photos i do a nether thing i do (not in this photo) i will put the eyes on a seaport layer and make them slightly bigger you can not over do it or it will look to overnice

Hi Nathan great shot and post work. Congrats on the awards. But I got a few questions. What is the PS action in the quote? Did you get the blur that way or from the aperature? Did you play with her eyes in post? Gausian blur of 40 with a multiple did nothing or so it seems. What does this do? Regardless the shot is in my fav.

I echo both Dev & Mary's comment regarding the image. The overall softness, punctuated by her piercing blue eyes makes for an outstanding portrait, I'm guessing windowlit alone as main. The crop really worked well here & the green tank top gives good separation of the model to background, skin tone is spot on. Well done Nathan & warm congrats for the twin awards, regards.

Ella parece estar esperando a alguien triste...sentada con la merida perdida en algún recuerdo. La iluminación es esplénida y los tonos verdosos increíbles.

This portrait is a great example of why you are one of my favorite photographers on this site. Every element works; it is just elegant! This dymanic image raises classic portraiture to a transcendent level.

I keep coming back to this image over and over. Really beautiful work, Nathan.

Congrats on the awards!!

Hi, Nathan!
it's THE perfect portrait, by my taste
wonderful use of selective focus
there's nothing out of place, if i could talk in musical terms, this shot, it's exactly like a perfect tuned orchestra!
80 elements that works everyone at their best...
believe me...
a 7/7, and straight to my favorites!
Sincerely
ciao
Davide

Incredible portrait. Can't believe the softness of this photo. The texture is so that, it gives a feel as if she's sipping the cola in heaven ;) Well done! Loved the color of the eyes. Into my favs.

What a great photo. I really like the colors and the aperture chosen that gives this blurry soft efect. Congratulation. Beautiful model's eyes,
