James -- You have managed to develop a technique that results in some very creative and intriguing designs. This one appeals to me particularly, rendering color, light, shape and motion into an exciting pin-wheel like effect. Well done and keep your imagination in high gear; it produces excellent results. The Emperor Orzack commends you as well. He and his minions enjoy looking at abstracts from their hidden base in my front yard.

Steve - Thanks. It took a little work to get a shot that was convincingly a human eye (I shot probably a couple of dozen rejects). I am pretty pleased with the similarities in this one.

Tuna - Nope. Same as all the others in this series. I put a shot glass in front of my camera lens and used camera motion to create what you see. The constituent lights in this shot are from a candle and a neon OPEN sign (and probably some other incandescent lights in the bar).

Thanks, Onie. I do what I can. This addition to my photographic arsenal (a shot glass) was most fruitful. But really this whole idea goes back to Phillip Minnis and some work he did with a glass plate. His stuff is definitely worth checking out.

Oh really? Hmm I thought otherwise after hearing that many of the old hippies now live in Seattle.
In general I find Americans to be very open and friendly, but big citypeople usually "protect" themselves more by having a certain attitude.
Anyway you´re welcome anytime in little Denmark to experience life here. Some find us cold and others just the opposite. I guess we´re the most openminded people in Scandinavia, but closed-up compared to Southern Europe:-)

Oh yes, considering functionality it could be "hip som hap" as we say in Denmark, but in terms of beauty the title Iris would fit better:)
Noone comes to ask you anything? Hmm it sounds like Copenhagen - in the cities people don´t dare approach each other. and some live there to actually disappear. That´s why I moved away from the city out where I can breath and see the season´s changing and chat with people while walking Little Henry.

Annemette - Thanks. I was originally thinking I would title it Iris, but decided to go with Aperture since they are basically the same sort of thing.
Choosing the correct plane of focus is what gives sharp v. fuzzy results. A wider DoF (caused by larger aperture number or smaller hole) helps to keep more subject matter in focus.
What do people think? I live in Seattle. No one talks to anyone else.

I like the title - very fitting although it can also look like fireworks.
One question, no make that two: How is it possible to make the clarity well in a luxshot when the photo depends on movement? Some of mine look more clear than others, but I haven´t figured out why yet.
Secondly: what do the people at the pub think when you shoot your photos?:-) Many comments I suppose?
