About Just trying out my Zoom. Trying to get used to the style of potential compositions it allows for. I must say I have to tell myself NOOO I can't switch to my favorite 12-24mm that I am so used to......so suffer along with me as I figure this out...lol

I forgot... Originally I thought that this picture was around the sand/rock mines in Metchosin.

Well... You took advantage of the great light and sky, which is the signature of your great work; I don't think that for the quality of your pictures the lens is an issue. I'm going the other way, from my zooms to my primes, I just ordered a 24mm. Great drive today eh? From Deep Cove to Esquilmalt, I bet through West Saanich Road. ;-)

We should have a coffee some time, are you around Cadboro Bay Road?

Cheers!

it was a long shot, hand held of Salt Spring Island from north of Brentwood Bay, west of Sydney. I am trying to get used to a zoom and figure out how to use it in a way that is appealing to me.

Gorgeous, nicely saturated fields and great dramatic clouds.

Love it!

Very nice composition, you've captured the light illuminating the hill with the dark threating clouds over head, very effective. Very nice shot Tim.

All the best,
Joe

Excellent capture of the golden hillside before those threateningly dark clouds moved in, Tim!
