Hi Nilanjan
No i am not shooting for HDR...I am not fond of tripods, or the time needed to assemble the images later to create HDR. The D80 has performed extremely well for what i am interested in shooting. I hope that if you get one, that it will be up to your needs.

Looks like a windy day, and an excellent capture of the contrasting foreground light and dark sky beyond. Well done, Tim!

Thanks for the links, Tim. Just last evening i was checking out the thinktank site! Their Rotation 360 looks interesting just for the reason you mentioned - those pesky bone-chilling summer rain showers we occasionally get. Thinktank has a sensible looking modular system too.

lol, it's been quite some time since i've needed a backpack...too many raw materials sitting around the homeplace... :)

Lowepro or Tamrac had a pop-up design that converts a belt pac to a backpack for extra storage if needed. Maybe i should look around -ebay- for that. Just need enough extra space for a nylon rain suit.

Besides the Lee ND filters, do you ever use a color polarizer?

Wow! Stunning! Everything about this piece is so dramatic! Even the rocks seem to be on edge.

Hi Kes,
I am always looking at bags and buying them, trying to get the best one suited to my needs. So far i am pleased to say this brand works like a charm. It has a great hip belt enough room for extra stuff (4x5 LEE,ND filters) as well as it comes with a detachable shoulder belt that is well padded. Everything Is made with top quality in mind....much better then the other brands for just a little bit more dough...but hey it is protecting your big $$$ investment. It also has a good rain jacket for those quick Colo. downpours that catch you outside and away from the car. Here is the Link.

and the link to the bag i have, although i might go for the next one up in the line, as it is a bit deeper, in case you get a bigger zoom.

I have been impressed with "Kata" bags as well too. But i have to say that they also make military gear and i am not sure i want to support that.

Wow, you've been busy! Fantastic shots, Tim. This is one moody landscape for sure!

Hey, what would you recommend for a belt pack for the D80 and a couple of lenses? I bet you have a comfortable, well balanced rig...

Have been looking at some LowePro and Tamrac bags...

Your friends should know that this is the REAL color of the needlegrass, so prevalent in Santa Cruz province. The color and texture are what make it so unique and so pleasing to photograph! Love the contrast with the looming weather. Deb

Perfect shot indeed dear Tim,
I love this wide angle shot, it's my favorite style (but unfortunately I don't have a wide enough lens!) but this one, this is great specially the way it goes to darkness in upper right it's not so balanced and that's why it's so terrifying,
Very well done, very well done,
Mohammad
