About This is why you need to carry your camera with you at all times. And leave your lenses in the car.

Shot while driving to see my wife, who is near the end of a year long internship 5 hours away.

Rainfall, sunset, and the rainbow appeared just as the sun was setting. I quickly peeled out of a gas station and headed back to an elk herd that live by a dairy facility.

Took a lot of shots at 12 mm, and toward the end the rainbow was starting to break up with some really interesting clouds. This is a composite stitch of 6 shots, probably resulting in a 120 degree field of view, then cropped down to center the rainbow.

Mary:

No doubt. I have the whole kit in the car now. A lot of money in my backpack, but a worthwhile risk just to capture things like this when they happen.

One of the few great things I saw while spending a year going back and forth between KS and NE.

What an incredible find! You must have been thrilled to see this. Boy, you sure would have been annoyed if you were without your camera. Fabulous.

Any more rainbows in one shot and there would have to be gold around there somewhere.
Hey how dod your photo show go? I am sure you had amazing shots to share.

Cheers, Tim

Hi Mike,

Very strong lighting - the deep shadow in the foreground is fantastic, it draws the attention to the far end, and that's where the action takes place. This rocks!

Cheers,

Hugo
