Hi Bernard, thanks for having the balls to respond.
The message your picture was giving was that any girl in a headscarf with a backpack could be a suicide bomber. That is implied racisim and religious bigotry. The very stereotypical thinking that is creating hatred in the world today.
My mother lived through night after night of bombing raids on the East End of London during the Second World War. I did not have to be there to understand the psychological damage she and many thousands of others suffered as a result.
I did not have to be in Bali, Herat, Kabul, Bagdad, Beirut, Jerusalem, Grozni, Londonderry, Belfast, New York, Berlin, Coventry, Colombo or any other place or war to feel hated for the warmongers and compassion for victims.
We all live on one planet. Given the stupidity of the human race I doubt we will survive to see any other planets colonised.
Regards John

Hi John, I think you are creating lovely mood into your images at present, this one has a dark but at the same time rich feel to it,and of coarse the composition is as usual perfect with the strong lead in of the cut grass between the well balanced groups of trees.Well done. Regards Micky

Hi John,
RE: SUICIDE BOMBERS
Photography is just a hobby to me, I don't make a living out of it. I love taking pictures of unusual objects and people from all walks. Some of the titles I use are intended only to provide humor, and maybe to attract more viewers. I'm sad, sad that some narrow minded souls took offence just because they do not like my title. By the way, I was in Bali October 12, 2002 when 202 people died in terrorist bombings, one of them was my muslim friend. Where were you then???
Anyway I've already remove the photo "Suicide Bombers". I hope you're all happy now....
Have a nice day!

The first DXO reviews were not all that convincing. I use the freeware PTLens plugsin for lens correction and Power Retouche plugins for almost everything else. Don't need to think of changing over as I am completely satisfied with the results... Nice concept, though.

That's interesting about monitors, John. CRT and LCD (a change I made not too long ago) are quite different, especially at the dark end. I am wondering whether I need to set up a colour management system to ensure that monitor, printer and scanner give the same colour balance. Not cheap, though... I have different setups at the office and at home, which compicates things, and the systems usually only work for a single installation. (If protection were dongle based I could carry it to and fro, of course.)

This was taken in February Roger. After one of the warmest, dryest winters on record we are back to our normal spring weather. Cool and damp. Not great for sitting on the beach.
I just downloaded a trial of DXO analyser and I quite like how it processed this file. Not sure if it's worth the money though.
I had to replace my monitor recently and purchased an LCD. Even though I profiled it, the brightness & contrast of the new monitor are higher than my old CRT. Taking a while to get the on-screen images right although they look fine in print.
Regards John

Hmmm. It's obviously worth a second or even third glance. Glad you gave it one. The sky seems a bit threatening... I guess this is from earlier in the year as you must be only just heading into summer right now.
