Hi Hermen, thanks for your reply. I think it makes the image better balanced, and more subtle. It is excactly what I had in mind.... It opens up the composition, allowing the viewer to (co-) admire the view, without his / her eyes being drawn back to the bench on the right. That's why I like it more.

It is interesting to hear from you that you find the bench on the right disturbing... I put it in deliberately because I thought it would give a kind of balance to the image.
After reading your comment, I worked on a different crop, and I must say, I like that one as well :-)

Hi Hermen, I agree, the tones and hues in this photo are excellent. I also like the composition, with the in the foreground, admiring the same thing as you present us with. As to the composition, I think the foreground takes up a bit too much space compared to the chaotic clutter of the houses in the background. That chaotic clutter might sound a bit negative, but I think it fits the image perfectly, and is essential to the atmosphere. The bench on the right is somewhat disturbing, I think, but other than that a very good capture.
