Recently I had a weekend holiday in the German Eifel mountains. I was by bike, so no possibility to carry my 2 pounds SLR :) Looking throught the viewfinder I though the tractor in the upper left corner would make a nice point of attraction, but on the print it is hardly visible... Nevertheless I was quite pleased with the result in this case.
Hi Marek, thanks for your comment - indeed, this toy camera is not bad enough to create a real 'special effect' - the only thing that came out really unexpected was the composition. Probably due to the very poor viewfinder, which is not much more than a hole that you look through. The frame is accurate, but the perspective is very wrong... And yes, I deliberately did not make many PS adjustments because of the 'Toy camera' heading.
Tractor? WHat tractor ;) I was goign to say its soft, but I then I started reading the info. I like the composition a lot - all those curves streaking round the edge of the photo. However, most of hte toy cams you see have a lot of character, this sort of feels like it is masquerading as a clean and proper photo that didn't quite work out. I do think that it would benefit a lot from different lighting. Maybe even just editing in PS - though that is against the spirit of toy cams I guess.
Just the same, I like the composition. The non-traditional use of the road along the border of the frame is wonderful. The fence lines bites alon the middle - it is a good comp. I love the slightly dreamy feel of this from the toy camera.
