About This was taken by me about 1 minute after I pulled my new D70 out of the box. I never thought I would post this, but I saw something here I wanted to share. I fiddled with the colors to bring out the yellow, burned the bulb a little to bring out detail, and used a moderate unsharp mask. The bulb is one of those spiral long-life bulbs.
Comments, please!

As we have already met, I hope that you don't mind our switching to first names.
Than you, Matthew, for showing interest in my book. I hope you find in it what you are looking for, perhaps, if I may say so, even more.
As to your "Lamp from bellow", I'm glad you decided to post it. It is very well composed, light and darkness playing againd each other like counterpoints in music, the oblique lampshade suspenders add to the composition and the structure of three at the top makes this a complete picture.
Keep daring,
Rafi

Well, I didn't use a tripod, or anything else for that matter. This shot was pure dumb luck. When I took this shot, I knew as much about photography as my 7 year old.
The one thing I did do with this shot was take it in RAW format. If you aren't familiar with that, it leaves the image unprocessed, and the actual work is done by the PC, which provides a much clearer shot, with better colour. That may account for your surprise at finding it was digital.
Thanks for your comments!
Matt

This is digital? Good focus and depth at close range. Did you use a tripod? I probably would have gone manual and used a small aperture and focused closer to get better close in depth. Nice lines.
